Kemijärvi is the northernmost town in Finland. The Eastern Lapland area where Kemijärvi is situated is well known for the nearby skiing resorts Suomu, Luosto, Pyhä and Salla. The beautiful Lake Kemijärvi, next to the city of Kemijärvi, is much appreciated as a place to visit during summertime. Surrounded by hills and large forests, River Kemijoki flows from Lake Kemijärvi to Rovaniemi and further, to the sea at Kemi. Other popular summer pastimes besides fishing are hiking, trekking, boating and hunting.

As the northernmost town in Finland, Kemijarvi is the base to many adventures, from easy day hikes to extreme winter sports.

It was my first time traveling to Europe and I didn't even know where to begin. I don't think I could have planned my trip without RoutePerfect.
