Carcassone's fortress, which was thoroughly restored in 1853 by the theorist and architect Eugene Viollet-le-Duc, was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1997.

Main sights in Perpignan include : The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, construction began in 1324 and ended in 1509; The 13th-century Palace of the Kings of Majorca sits on the high citadel, surrounded by ramparts. The main city door, the Castillet is a small fortress built in the 14th century, which has been preserved. It had also been used as a prison until the end of the 19th century.

    Uzes is a commune in southern France. It lies about 25 km north-northeast of Nimes. The present-day city retains the trace of its walls as a circuit of boulevards. A Capuchin chapel, built in 1635 to house the mortal remains of the dukes, occupies the site of a 1st-century AD temple dedicated to the first Roman Emperor, Augustus. There are monuments of the prestige of the former bishopric, once one of the most extensive of Languedoc, but extinguished at the Revolution, and private houses that witness the wealth that the textile trade brought in the 16th century.

    Ceret is a commune in southern France. The town lies in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains. Ceret has a continued tradition of being a home for artists, especially painters and poets. Pablo Picasso lived in Ceret in the early part of the 20th century. Ceret is famous for its Musee d'Art Moderne (Museum of Modern Art), which has numerous Picasso paintings, sculptures and ceramics, including the famous bullfighting bowl series. The museum also features paintings by Chagall, Matisse, Herbin, Soutine, lots of Fauves and a few Impressionists. The top floor of the Museum hosts touring exhibitions.
