  • Freiburg Photowalk

    Freiburg im Breisgau is a university city in the Black Forest in southwest Germany. The name from the 14th century, comes from the German meaning “Free Town”. The Old City is “air-conditioned” by the Freiburg Bächle (water-filled channels, streamlets) fed by the Dreisam River which  rapidly  flow down the streets, making the Freiburg Bächle one of the city's best known landmarks.

    Located on the Neckar River, it combines old-world charm with modernism. People are left in awe of The Old Town and the University and the ancient library, as well as the historic 14th century Heidelberg Castle which overlooks the city and are enthralled when they tour the Artillery Garden, surrounded by cannon posts. 
    People are fascinated when they visit the wine cellar, known as the Heidelberg Tun, which has the world’s biggest wine barrel built in 1751 and are amused by the well-known statue Perkeo the Jester.  
    In addition to its historical and cultural attractions, Heidelberg offers an exciting cultural scene, with theatres, art galleries, numerous museums as well as incredible landscapes of hills, lakes and forests. Heidelberg has it all!

  • Weihnachtsmarkt, Stuttgart, Germany

    Stuttgart is a city in southern Germany. The sixth-largest city in Germany. At the centre of Stuttgart lies its main square. As well as being the largest square in Stuttgart, it stands at the crossover point between the city's shopping area, Schlossgarten park, Stuttgart's two central castles and major museums and residential areas to the south west. Buildings of note in the city include: Collegiate Church, dates back to the 12th century, but was changed to the Late Gothic style in the 15th century. Exterior: Romanesque/Gothic; interior: Romanesque/Gothic/Modern. The Old Castle, mostly dating from the late 15th century. Renaissance style;

    Former US president, Bill Clinton, once visited the city of Baden-Baden. With his characteristic sense of humor he quipped, “Baden-Baden is so nice they had to name it twice”. Indeed it is one of the most charming cities in Germany. As Johannes Brahms, the famous German composer from the 1800’s said of the city of thermal springs and spas, “I've always been passionate about Baden-Baden." The virtues of the springs the Romans had already discovered when they ruled in that region at the beginning of the first millennium CE. This is where they first constructed the first bathhouses, where they planted the first vines which they brought with them from “the Boot Country”, the moniker for Italy.

    Konstanz is a city located at the western end of Lake Constance in the south-west corner of Germany. Main sights include the Konstanz Cathedral, Petershausen Abbey and Konzil edifice, dating to the 15th century.

  • Schwaebisch Hall 0082

    Schwäbisch Hall is the capital of the district of the same name. The town is located in the valley of the Kocher in the north-eastern part of Baden-Württemberg. Home to outdoor summer theatre, Hällisch-Frankische Museum and the Hohenloher Freilandmuseum shows the history of the region. Schwäbisch Hall and the surrounding area offer a plenty of activities including sports flying, swimming, hiking and cycling. Other parts of the city's culture includes the Salt Festival where the historical salt economy of the town is celebrated, the Summer Night Festival, the Baker's Oven Festival and the Christmas Market which includes traditional handicrafts.

    ULM was an imperial city in the Middle Ages and a center of power. It is situated on the Danube River on the border with Bavaria in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. Ulm’s location on the Danube River and on the overland route from Munich to the Rhine gave it great economic control. Within the circle of walls, which were about 5 kilometers long (some are still standing to this day), is a vibrant city that combines the old and the new. 

  • HDR

    Überlingen is a city on the shore of Lake Constance, Germany. The Münster St. Nikolaus is the largest late Gothic building in the region and is a city landmark, as well as an emblem of Überlingen. The church has a large wooden altar carved by Jörg Zürn in the late Renaissance. On a pier in the inner altar is a figure of Jakob with his staff and scallop shell. On a wider pier is a cannonball from the 1634 siege by Swedish troops and their allies. The Sylvester Chapel in the city quarter of Goldbach contains frescoes of the Reichenauer School from the 9th century. The City Hall was erected during the Renaissance period. The City Council hall is decorated with a cycle of limewood figures.

  • Tubingen Chocolate fest - CHOCOLart

    Tübingen is a traditional university town in Germany. In central Tübingen, the Neckar river divides briefly into two streams, forming the elongated Neckar Island. The row of historical houses across one side of the elongated Neckarinsel includes the house with adjoining tower where poet Friedrich Hölderlin stayed for the last 36 years of his life. The highlights of Tübingen include its crooked cobblestone lanes, narrow-stair alleyways picking their way through the hilly terrain, streets lined with canals and well-maintained traditional half-timbered houses. Old town landmarks include the City Hall on the Market Square and the castle; The central landmark is the Collegiate Church.

    Freudenstadt is a town in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. The city lies on a high plateau at the east edge of the north Black Forest, and is well known for its fresh air. Its city centre is famous as the largest market place in Germany. Freudenstadt is a climatic health resort of international renown. With its many hotels and guest houses, and its high-class cuisine, Freudenstadt remains a popular vacation spot for Germans from every part of the country.

  • Schloß Karlsruhe

    Karlsruhe is a city in southwest Germany. Karlsruhe Palace was built in 1715 and the city is now the seat of two of the highest courts in Germany, the Federal Constitutional Court and the Federal Court of Justice. Main attractions : The Stadtgarten is a recreational area near the main railway station and was rebuilt in 1967 during the 'Federal Garden Show. It is also the site of the Karlsruhe Zoo. The Durlacher Turmberg has a look-out tower. It is a former keep dating back to the 13th century. The Marktplatz has a stone pyramid marking the grave of the city's founder. Built in 1825, it is the emblem of Karlsruhe.

  • Meersburg von der Fähre

    Meersburg is a town of Baden-Württemberg in the southwest of Germany at Lake Constance. It is famous for its charming medieval city. The lower town ("Unterstadt") and upper town ("Oberstadt") are reserved for pedestrians only and connected by two stairways and a steep street. The town is home to two castles, the Old Castle and the New Castle. The Old Castle, according to the Swiss chronicles, was built by the Merovingian King Dagobert I in the 7th Century. The Old Castle is open for visitors and features a self-guided tour. The New Castle was built in the 18th Century as a home for the Bishop of Constance.
