  • Castle Schwerin

    Schwerin is a city in the northern German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Main Sights : The landmark of the city is the Schwerin Palace, located on an island in the lake of the same name. It was, for centuries, the residence of the Dukes of Mecklenburg and today is the seat of the Landtag (state parliament). Schwerin Cathedral, built in 1260–1416 in Brick Gothic style. The Old Garden square, surrounded by buildings such as the 18th-century Old Palace, the neoclassical State Art Museum, built in 1877–1882, and the City Theater, erected in 1886. Schelfkirche (Saint Nicolai, originally built 1238, but rebuilt in 1713 after destruction by a storm)

    Stralsund is a city in Western Pomerania, Germany. Main sights : The Brick Gothic historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The heart of the old town is the Old Market Square, with the Gothic Town Hall (13th century). Behind the town hall stands St. Nicholas' Church. The square is surrounded by houses from different periods, including the Gothic Wulflamhaus, and the Baroque Commandantenhaus. Saint Mary's Church, built in 1383–1473 in Gothic style. Its octagonal tower (104 meters high) offers a magnificent view of Stralsund and the neighboring islands. The Katharinenkloster (Monastery of Saint Catherine), built in the 15th century, houses two museums: a museum of history, and an oceanography museum. The ancient refectory of the monastery is one of the most spectacular Gothic interiors in Germany.

  • Rostock, Germany

    Rostock is the largest city in the north German state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Rostock is on the Warnow river; Rostock is home to one of the oldest universities in the world, the University of Rostock founded in 1419. One of the most picturesque places in Rostock is the New Market Square, with the Town Hall - that was originally built in the 13th century in Brick Gothic style, but extensively transformed in the 18th century, with the addition of a Baroque façade and a banqueting hall. The square also preserved six original, carefully restored gable houses from the 15th and 16th centuries.

    Warnemünde is a seaside resort and the northernmost district of Rostock in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, on the Baltic Sea in the northeast of Germany. Being a centre of maritime traffic, the district of Warnemünde comprises numerous navigational aids, the oldest being the lighthouse, built in 1897, and still currently in use. In the summer, the tower, approximately 37 metres (121 ft) high, allows visitors to enjoy an impressive view over the Baltic Sea and the northern districts of Rostock. Warnemünde’s other famous landmark, the nearby Teapot with its Hyparschale-curved roof, is an interesting living example of East German architecture. Built in the 1960s and renovated in 2002.

    Wismar is a town in northern Germany on the Baltic Sea. The city has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites since 2002. The centre of the old town is the huge Market Place, one of the largest in northern Germany, surrounded by elegant buildings with styles ranging from 14th-century North German Gothic to 19th-century Romanesque revival to Art Nouveau. The square's focal point is the Wasserkunst, an elaborate wrought-iron fountain imported from Holland in 1602. The northern side of the square is occupied by the Town Hall, built in neoclassical style in 1817–1819. Another notable building in the square is an ancient Gothic warehouse called The Old Swede, erected around 1380.
