Delphi both an archaeological site and a modern town in Greece on the south-western spur of Mount Parnassus in the valley of Phocis and is perhaps best known for the oracle at the sanctuary that was dedicated to Apollo during the classical period. Modern Delphi is situated immediately west of the archaeological site and hence is a popular tourist destination.
