  • The confluence of River Corrib into Galway Bay

    Galway is a city in the West of Ireland in the province of Connacht. Galway lies on the River Corrib between Lough Corrib and Galway Bay. Galway is known as Ireland's Cultural Heart and is renowned for its vibrant lifestyle and numerous festivals, celebrations and events. Every November, Galway hosts the Tulca Festival of Visual Arts as well as numerous festivals. Lynch's Castle on Shop Street is probably the finest medieval town house in Ireland. The Church of Ireland St. Nicholas' Collegiate Church is the largest medieval church still in everyday use in Ireland.

  • Lahinch, October 2008

    Lahinch is a small town on Liscannor Bay, on the northwest coast of County Clare, Ireland. The town is a seaside resort and is home to the Lahinch Golf Club and is a popular surfing location. The town contains several small cafes and restaurants, a church, a pub and the Lahinch and Shamrock Hotels.. Local points of interest are Moy House, a country house set in 15 acres of woodland on the River Moy, Lahinch Seaworld, the Dough Castle tower ruins.

  • Clifden

    Clifden a town on the coast of County Galway, Ireland and being Connemara's largest town, located on the Owenglin River where it flows into Clifden Bay. It is the main town in Connemara andt is home to a range of services. •Local sights include the Twelve Bens mountain range, Connemara National Park, Derrygimlagh Bog, Inishbofin island and Slyne Head Lighthouse.

  • Cong Bridge

    Cong is a village straddling the borders of County Galway and County Mayo, in Ireland. Cong is situated on an island formed by a number of streams that surround it on all sides. Cong is the home of Ashford Castle, one of Ireland's finest hotels, converted from a Victorian faux lakeside castle, built by the Guinness family and is a tourist attraction in its own right. Cong also has a fine example of a ruined medieval abbey, Cong Abbey, where Rory O'Connor, the last High King of Ireland, is buried. It also is the origin of Celtic art in the form of a metal cross shrine called the Cross of Cong. The 'Cross of Cong' is now held in the National Museum of Ireland, Dublin.
