  • Lake Bled

    Bled is a town on Lake Bled in northwestern Slovenia. It is most notable as a popular tourist destination in the Upper Carniola region and in Slovenia as whole. Bled is known for the glacial Lake Bled, which makes it a major tourist attraction. Perched on a rock overlooking the lake is the iconic Bled Castle. The town is also known in Slovenia for its vanilla and cream pastry Today it is a convention centre and tourist resort, offering a wide range of sports activities such as golf, fishing, and horseback-riding. Other notable near-by landmarks are the Assumption of Mary Church and Triglav National Park.

    Kranjska Gora is a town on the Sava Dolinka River in the Upper Carniola region of northwestern Slovenia, close to the Austrian and Italian borders. The town is best known as a winter sports town, being situated in the Julian Alps. It annually hosts an event in the Alpine skiing World Cup series, also known as the Vitranc Cup, for the slalom and giant slalom events. The well-known ski jumping hill Planica is located in the nearby Tamar Valley. The local church is noteworthy - built in the 14th century, it is late Gothic in style and has a typical Carinthian rib vaulting.

    Kranj is the fourth-largest city in Slovenia, and is a mainly industrial city. The nucleus of the city is a well-preserved medieval old town, built at the confluence of the Kokra and Sava rivers. The St. Cantianius and Companions Parish Church and Kieselstein Castle are noteworthy landmarks in town. The castle garden is currently used as a concert setting.

    Radovljica is a town in the Upper Carniola region of northern Slovenia. It is located on the southern slope of the Karawanks mountain range at the confluence of the Sava Dolinka and the Sava Bohinjka.

  • Škofja Loka

    Škofja Loka is a town in in Upper Carniola, Slovenia. Located at the confluence of the Poljane Sora and the Selca Sora rivers. Its old centre stands on river terraces, and comprises Town Square (Plac) and Lower Square (Lontrg). On a plateau above the town stands Loka Castle, which houses the Loka Museum. Škofja Loka is the birthplace of the Škofja Loka Passion Play, the oldest play in Slovene. based on an older tradition, in 1999 the play was revived with amateur actors. The Škofja Loka Capuchin monastery at Capuchin Square in the old part of the town keeps a library of older books - some date back to the 16th century.
