    Zaragoza is the capital city of the Zaragoza province and of the autonomous community of Aragon, Spain. It is situated on the Ebro river, near the center of the region, in a valley with a variety of landscapes, ranging from desert to thick forest, meadows and mountains. The city is famous for its folklore, local gastronomy, and landmarks such as the Basilica del Pilar, La Seo Cathedral and the Aljaferia Palace. Together with La Seo and the Aljaferia, several other buildings form part of the Mudejar Architecture of Aragon which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Fiestas del Pilar are among the most celebrated festivals in Spain.

  • Teruel

    Teruel is a town in Aragon, eastern Spain, and the capital of Teruel Province. It is noted for its harsh climate, its renowned jamon serrano, its pottery, its surrounding archaeological sites with some of the oldest dinosaur remains of the Iberian Peninsula, and its famous Fiestas. Teruel is regarded as the 'town of mudejar' due to numerous buildings designed in this style. All of them are comprised in the Mudejar Architecture of Aragon which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Ciudadela militar de Jaca (Huesca - España)

    Jaca is a city in northeastern Spain near the border with France, in the midst of the Pyrenees. Jaca boasts several medieval walls and towers surrounding the 11th-century Romanesque Jaca Cathedral. The Jaca citadel, a fortification dating to the late 16th century, is home to a colony of rock sparrows. The Diocesan Museum of Jaca (Museum of Medieval Sacred Art) protects Romanesque and Gothic frescoes, some of which were found in the most remote locations in the Jaca district. Jaca is a tourist destination in the region for summer holidays and winter sports.

  • Sos del Rey Católico

    Sos del Rey Catolico is a historic town and municipality located in the province of Zaragoza, Aragon, Spain. Sos is one of the most well-preserved medieval cities in province; large parts of the old town are said to look much as they did at the time of Ferdinand's birth. Sights in the town include the Sada Palace, birthplace of the Catholic monarch; several churches, including the Roman church of Saint Stephen and the 11th-century crypt of the Virgen del Perdon; the old medieval wall and seven of its gates; and the medieval stock exchange, the Lonja.

  • Benasque la nuit

    Benasque or Benasc is a town in the province of Huesca. It is the main town in the Benasque Valley, located in the heart of the Pyrenees and surrounded by the highest peaks in that range.

  • Huesca

    Huesca is a city in north-eastern Spain, within the autonomous community of Aragon. Huesca celebrates its main festivities Fiestas de San Lorenzo from 9 to 15 August. A double line of ancient walls can still be seen in present-day Huesca. Nearby, in the territory of Quicena, lie the ruins of the Castle of Montearagon Monastery. Huesca Cathedral (Catedral de la Transfiguracion del Senor) is a Gothic style Cathedral, built by king James I of Aragon around 1273 on the ruined foundations of a mosque.

  • Alquezar

    Alquezar is a municipality in the province of Huesca, in the autonomous community of Aragon, Spain. Situated on a limestone outcrop of Eocene age to the west of the canyon of the Rio Vero river in the Sierra de Guara national park, the village has grown around a castle and the Colegiata de Alquezar of Santa Maria (consecrated in 1099). The surrounding area to the south towards Barbastro, in the direction of the flatter Ebro basin, is part of the Somontano, an area known for its fine wines. There are more than 60 limestone caves with prehistoric cave paintings in the surrounding area, which has led to the region being declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1998.
