Strøget, a popular shopping area, hosts many street performers in the late afternoon and evening. Copenhagen is home to the two oldest amusement parks in the world - Dyrehavsbakken and Tivoli Gardens. The city also has many restaurants and bars with nightclub staing open until 5 or 6 in the morning.

Originating as a 10C Viking fishing village, the capital now offers amazing culture, historic sites, restaurants, and nightlife.

Ribe

Ribe is the oldest extant Danish town, located in southwest Jutland. The town has many well-preserved old buildings and The Ribe Cathedral and old town hall are especially noteworthy. Among the cultural highlights are some notable museums: Ribe Viking Museum, Ribe Art Museum and Denmark's oldest province museum. Another attraction in town is The Night Watchman - Every evening from 1 May until 15 September you may accompany the night watchman in Ribe on his route through the old town, while he is singing to alert citizens about bedtime approaching. Mandø Island nature reserve is 30km from town.

Considered to be one of the better-preserved medieval towns in the country, Ribe is also home to rich authentic Danish culture.

Odense is the third largest city in Denmark and the main city of the island of Funen. Odense is known as the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen and throughout the city there are numerous statues representing characters from his stories and a museum is located in the house is it thought he was born in. Other landmarks in town include Nonnebakken - the site of a Viking ring castle, Saint Canute's Cathedral, St Alban's Church, Odense Palace and the Odense Zoo. A wide variety of shops can be found in the city centre, especially on Kongensgade and Vestergade and adjacent pedestrian streets Nightlife in the city culminates in Brandts Passage, which contains numerous restaurants, bars and cafes.

Named for the Norse god Odin in the 11C, this town is home to ecclesiastical landmarks, a few museum, and a well-restored center.
