In the middle of the town is the Tartini Square, with a monument in memory of Giuseppe Tartini. Located nearby are Tartini’s house, the Municipal Palace, Loggia and Benečanka. On the hill above the town is the Church of Saint George, with a Franciscan monastery nearby. Musical Evenings of Piran, takes place each October 15 in Greyfriars Franciscan monastery's atrium, celebrates the foundation of the first Slovenian partisan naval detachment.
