Denmark Funen Island

Odense is the third largest city in Denmark and the main city of the island of Funen. Odense is known as the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen and throughout the city there are numerous statues representing characters from his stories and a museum is located in the house is it thought he was born in. Other landmarks in town include Nonnebakken - the site of a Viking ring castle, Saint Canute's Cathedral, St Alban's Church, Odense Palace and the Odense Zoo. A wide variety of shops can be found in the city centre, especially on Kongensgade and Vestergade and adjacent pedestrian streets Nightlife in the city culminates in Brandts Passage, which contains numerous restaurants, bars and cafes.

Svendborg is a town on the island of Funen in south-central Denmark. Interesting locations in town include Church of Our Lady, Anne Hvide's House, and Naturama - a natural history museum. Sights in the areas around town include the Egeskov caslte, Valdemar's Castle and the Hesselagergård manor.

Faaborg is an old port town located on Faaborg Fjord on the island of Funen in Denmark. The harbour, old streets, historic mansions and town houses all make Faaborg a pleasant city for visitors. Its many restaurants serve a wide variety of Danish and foreign dishes. local landmarks include the Faaborg Church - dating from 1477 and Faaborg Museum which holds one of Denmark's most important art collections. Outside of town nearby attractions include Egeskov Castle, Hvedholm Castle and Horne Church.
