Ubud is a town on the Indonesian island of Bali in Ubud District, located among rice paddies and steep ravines in the central foothills of the Gianyar regency. One of Bali's major arts and culture centers, it has developed a large tourism industry. Puri Saren Agung is a large palace located at the intersection of Monkey Forest and Raya Ubud roads. The residence of Tjokorda Gede Agung Sukawati, the last ruling monarch of Ubud. A number of Hindu temples exist, such as Pura Desa Ubud, which is the main temple, Pura Taman Saraswati, and Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal, the temple of death. The Gunung Kawi temple is the site of the royal tombs.

Bedugul is a mountain lake resort area in Bali, Indonesia, located in the center-north region of the island near Lake Bratan on the road between Denpasar and Singaraja. Bedugul enjoys a mild mountain weather due to its location at an altitude of about 1,500 metres (4,900 ft) above the sea level. Major sites in Bedugul are the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan water temple and the Eka Karya Botanic Garden. The Botanic Garden, opened in 1959. With a total area of 157.5 hectares (389 acres) is the largest in Indonesia.

Jimbaran is a fishing village and tourist resort in Bali, Indonesia. Located south of Ngurah Rai International Airport, the beach has seafood restaurants and luxury hotels, including the five-star Kayumanis Private Estate & Spa, Intercontinental Hotel Bali, AYANA Resort and Spa Bali, Four Seasons and Jimbaran Puri Bali and the casual dining restaurant Cuca. Lately, Jimbaran is developing a more affordable accommodation such as The Open House Bali. Diners select the live seafood that they wish to eat, and it is immediately prepared, generally grilled over a fire of coconut husks rather than charcoal.

Seminyak is a mixed tourist / residential area on the west coast of Bali just north of Kuta and Legian. This area is very popular with resident expatriates and land and accommodation prices are amongst the highest in Bali. Plenty of luxury spas and hotels abound. Owing to its high density of high-end shopping, combined with the clustering of many fine eating establishments, it has rapidly become one of the most well-known tourist areas on the island.

Padangbai is a small town in eastern Bali, Indonesia near Candidasa. It serves as a ferry port for travel to Lembar on Lombok, The Gilis and other of the Lesser Sunda Islands. It is also a lovely beach town that is popular with those who prefer a small town atmosphere over the large scale beach party that is Kuta. Besides the beach near the ferry terminal there is a beach just to the north known locally as the Blue Lagoon and the especially nice Secret Beach just to the south of town. Blue Lagoon has two family owned warungs that will be glad to prepare a meal and serve beer. Many people go to Padangbai to Scuba Dive.

Sanur is a coastal stretch of beach of Denpasar city of southeast Bali, which has grown into a little town in its own right. Traditional fishing boats can be seen on the beach of Sanur offering a scenic view of the island Nusa Penida. Another interesting sight can be visited in the south of Sanur in Jalan Danau Poso Street beside Pura Belangjong, a small Hindu temple. A stone column measuring 1.77 m can be seen under a roof at the end of a small and short blind alley. This is the oldest object produced by men on Bali. The column bears inscriptions dating from the 9th century written in Sanskrit and in a very old form of Balinese.

Kuta is administratively a district and subdistrict/village in southern Bali, Indonesia. A former fishing village, it was one of the first towns on Bali to see substantial tourist development, and as a beach resort remains one of Indonesia's major tourist destinations. It is known internationally for its long sandy beach, varied accommodation, many restaurants and bars, and many renowned surfers who visit from Australia. It is located near Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport. The beach has been notable since early 1970s. Kuta beach is also known as Sunset Beach, as opposed to the Sunrise Beach, another name for Sanur Beach. Luxury resorts, restaurants, and clubs are located along the beach.

Nusa Dua is an area in the southern part of Bali, Indonesia, known as an enclave of large 5-star resorts. Geger Beach is located in Sawangan, about 3 km from the southern area of Nusa Dua. The sea here is calm, so farmers grow seaweed here and tourists swim here. Immediately north of the Nusa Dua enclave is the peninsula of Tanjung Benoa, which includes cheaper hotels as well as Benoa village. Benoa Port, also located here, was previously for yachts and small ships. It is now Benoa Cruise International Terminal's turnaround port, serving as both embarkation and debarkation point for cruise passengers. As turnaround port, tourists can arrive or leave Benoa Port by either plane or ship.

Amed is a long coastal strip of fishing villages in East Bali.
