Clermont-Ferrand is a city and commune of France, in the Auvergne region, with a population of 140,700. The city is famous for the chain of volcanoes, the Chaine des Puys surrounding it. The famous dormant volcano Puy-de-Dome is one of the highest of these and well known for the telecommunication antennas that sit on its top and are visible from far away. Clermont-Ferrand has two famous churches. One is Notre-Dame du Port, a Romanesque church which was built during the 11th and 12th centuries. It was nominated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1998. The other is Clermont-Ferrand Cathedral, built in Gothic style between the 13th and the 19th centuries.

Geneva is the second most populous city in Switzerland. Situated where the Rhone exits Lake Geneva, it is the capital of the Republic and Canton of Geneva. The opera house has the largest stage in Switzerland. It features opera and dance performances, recitals, concerts and, occasionally, theatre. The Victoria Hall is used for classical music concerts. Every summer, the Geneva Festival is organised. Hundreds of thousands of people come to Geneva to see the annual one-hour long grand firework display. Museums and art galleries are everywhere in the city. The Palace of Nations, home of the United Nations headquarters, can also be visited.
Ideally located on Lake Leman, Geneva has become a thriving metropolis full of cultural events, museums, music venues, and festivals.

Val d'Isere is a commune in southeastern France. It is on the border of the Vanoise National Park created in 1963. Val d'Isere regularly hosts World Cup alpine events, usually for the men in early December, and hosted the World Championships in 2009. It is located in the Savoie region with good transport links in and out of Lyon, Geneva and Chambery. The western and central areas of Val d'Isère are most recognizable by their "chalet" architecture, while in the eastern part of the town high-rise architecture dominates the landscape. Along with nearby Tignes the area forms part of the "l'Espace Killy", the self-titled "Most Beautiful Ski Area in the World".

Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. It is in the Liguria region of Italy, to the west of the city of La Spezia. "The Five Lands" is composed of five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Over the centuries, people have carefully built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Part of its charm is the lack of visible corporate development. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages, and cars cannot reach them from the outside. The Cinque Terre area is a very popular tourist destination.
