Bac Ha is located in a rural district of Lao Cai Province in the Northeast region of Vietnam. It is the capital of the region of the Flower Hmong, one of the 54 minorities of Vietnam and of the six groups of Hmong people. It is famous for its Sunday morning market, where thousands of locals gathered, the women dressed in their very intricate handmade costumes (it takes three to five months to embroider one by hand), as well as for the Saturday morning smaller market of Can Cau, 18km north of Bac Ha. The town is enjoying an economic boom thanks to tourism, centered on the markets and, more and more, excellent trekking in the mountains north of the town.

Kazan celebrated its millennium in 2005, after a city-organized historical commission settled on 1005 as the official year of the city's founding. During the millennium celebrations, one of the largest mosque in Russia, Qolsharif, was dedicated in the Kazan Kremlin, the holiest copy of Our Lady of Kazan was returned to the city, the "Millennium Bridge" was inaugurated that year, and the Kazan Metro began operation.

Rust is a city in the Austrian state of Burgenland, located on the western shore of Lake Neusiedl near the border with Hungary. With only about 1,900 inhabitants, it is the country's smallest statutory city, as it was endowed with the rights of a royal free city by the Hungarian crown in 1681. As a Statutarstadt, it also forms an administrative district (Bezirk) in its own right. The city is famous for its wines, especially for Beerenauslese, ice wine and - especially - Ruster Ausbruch.

Steinau an der Straße is a town in the Main-Kinzig district, in Hesse, Germany. It is situated on the river Kinzig, The Brothers (Jacob and Wilhelm) Grimm, famous for their collection of fairy tales and forklore, lived in Steinau during their childhood. the family lived in Steinau from 1796-1805 living in a home that still stands today on Brückentor - "Die Alte Kellerei". It is one of many of the remarkable Fachwerkhaeuser - half-timbered houses - that can be found throughout the town.

Home to the young Brothers Grimm, Steinau is a picture-perfect German town from the 13C, complete with a castle and cobblestones.

The first Celtic settlers came there before the Middle Ages. In 14C, Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor and Czech king, gave the privileges to the city. According to legend after he had acclaimed the healing power of the hot springs. Earlier settlements can be found in the outskirts of today's city. In 19C, it became a popular tourist destination, especially for international celebrities visiting for spa treatment. The city is also known for the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, which has become one of Europe's major film events. The famous Karlovarske oplatky (Carlsbad spa wafers) originated in the city in 1867. The city has also given its name to the delicacy known as "Carlsbad plums".

Already in the 18C the spa town was famed for its thermal springs, and now it offers an array of great eateries and elegant buildings, too!
