    Viterbo is an ancient city and commune in the Lazio region of central Italy, the capital of the province of Viterbo. It is surrounded by the Monti Cimini and Monti Volsini. The historic center of the city is surrounded by medieval walls, still intact, built during the 11th and 12th centuries. Entrance to the walled center of the city is through ancient gates. Viterbo's historic center is one of the best preserved medieval towns of central Italy. Many of the older buildings (particularly churches) are built on top of ancient ruins, recognizable by their large stones. Viterbo is unique in Italy for its concentration of 'profferli', external staircases that were a frequent feature of medieval houses.

Main sights in Tivoli include : Villa Adriana, part of the UNESCO World Heritage site list from 1999. Villa d'Este, part of the UNESCO World Heritage site list since 2001. Villa Gregoriana.     Frascati is a town and commune in the Lazio region of central Italy. It is located on the Alban Hills close to the ancient city of Tusculum. Frascati is closely associated with science, being the location of several international scientific laboratories. Frascati is renowned for its white wine, also named Frascati. It is also an important historical and artistic center. Frascati is famous for its notable villas, which were built from the 16th century onward by Popes, cardinals and Roman nobles as "status symbols" of Roman aristocracy. These country houses were designed for social activities rather than farming. The villas are substantially well preserved, or have been carefully and authentically restored.

    Castel Gandolfo is a town located 15 miles southeast of Rome in the Lazio region of Italy. Occupying a height on the Alban Hills overlooking Lake Albano, Castel Gandolfo has a population of approximately 8,834 residents and is considered one of Italy's most scenic towns. Within the town's boundaries lies the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo which served as a summer residence and vacation retreat for the pope. Castel Gandolfo has several places of archaeological interest including the Emissario del Lago Albano and the remains of the Villa of Domitian.

    Tuscania is a town and commune in the province of Viterbo, Lazio Region, Italy. The main monument of the city is the church of Saint Peter and other sights include the Etruscan Museum, the Romanesque Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, the Tower of Lavello and Etruscan necropolises, including the Tomb of the Queen and Pian di Mola. The historic quarter is substantial, completely surrounded by the medieval city walls that offer excellent views over the surrounding countryside and the church of St Peter.

    Sperlonga is a coastal town in the province of Latina, halfway between Rome and Naples. It is best known for the ancient Roman sea grotto discovered in the grounds of the Villa of Tiberius containing the important and spectacular Sperlonga sculptures, which are displayed in a museum on the site. Sperlonga's main cultural attraction is the museum erected in the grounds of the former Villa of Tiberius showing the groups of sculpture found in the grotto celebrating the deeds of Odysseus. According to Tacitus and Suetonius, the roof of the grotto collapsed while Tiberius was dining, and Sejanus rushed to save Tiberius, for which Tiberius in gratitude promoted him, launching his rise to power.

  • Tarquinia, Italy

    Tarquinia is an ancient city in the province of Viterbo, Lazio, Italy, known chiefly for its outstanding and unique ancient Etruscan tombs in the widespread necropoli or cemeteries which it overlies, for which it was awarded UNESCO World Heritage status. In 1922 it was renamed after the ancient city of Tarquinii (Roman). Although little is visible of the once great wealth and extent of the ancient city, archaeology is increasingly revealing glimpses of past glories.

  • Bracciano

    Bracciano is a small town in the Italian region of Lazio, 30 km (19 mi) northwest of Rome. The town is famous for its volcanic lake (Lago di Bracciano or "Sabatino", the eighth largest lake in Italy) and for a particularly well-preserved medieval castle Castello Orsini-Odescalchi. The lake is widely used for sailing and is popular with tourists; the castle has hosted a number of events, especially weddings of actors and singers. The town is served by an urban railway (Line FR3) which connects it with Rome (stations of Ostiense and Valle Aurelia) in about 55 minutes. Close to it lie the two medieval towns of Anguillara Sabazia and Trevignano Romano.

    Terracina is a city and comune of the province of Latina - (until 1934 of the province of Rome), Italy, 76 kilometres (47 miles) southeast of Rome by rail and 56 kilometres (35 mi) by the Via Appia by car. The modern town occupies the site of the old one. The present piazza is the ancient Roman forum, and the Roman pavement of slabs of travertine with the inscription A. AEMILIUS A. F. in letters once filled in with bronze, is well preserved. The paving is supported by massive arched substructures, which extend under the surrounding houses.

The city has some pharmaceutical, chemical industry, cheese production and has a strong service sector. Latina is also an important center for agriculture.

    Fiumicino is a town and comune in the Metropolitan City of Rome, Lazio, central Italy. Located by the Tyrrhenian coast. Fiumicino borders with the municipalities of Anguillara Sabazia, Cerveteri, Ladispoli and Rome. It lies in the northern side of the mouth of Tiber river, next to Ostia. Fiumicino is home to the largest airport in Italy, the Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, which includes the Fiumicino Aeroporto railway station. In addition, Fiumicino has a large fishing center on the Tyrrhenian Sea coast and a sea resort.
